Aims

We encourage independence, which will improve confidence and self-esteem. Through our sound, project and colour of the week, the children can become familiar with the sounds of letters and increase their vocabulary. Reading soon becomes the next step.

An individual counting lesson using conkers

Children are encouraged to explore a range of equipment and materials at their own pace. The Montessori method is renowned for allowing individual lessons whilst still retaining group sessions, helping the child realise their potential.

Children at our Montessori Pre-School will acquire experience that is preparatory to writing, reading and arithmetic. They learn about Geography, Biology, History as well as gaining practical and sensorial skills. They are given opportunities for role play and creative activities with paints, modelling, play dough and baking. Singing games and story times are included in the day's activities. Music and Movement, Gym and French lessons are on a weekly basis.
